Tractor Supply Company Statement In the midst of "Pride Month," American's force-fed, practically-legislated celebration of the complete spectrum of sexual immorality, it's nice to see someone besides the Texas Rangers emphasize business over politics. I never turn down even the weakest excuse to visit Tractor Supply...now I'm even more of a fan.
A quote from G.K. Chesterton "Tradition means giving votes to the most obscure of all classes, our ancestors. It is the democracy of the dead. Tradition refuses to submit to the small and arrogant oligarchy of those who merely happen to be walking about." Reading more Chesterton would do us all good. Full stop.
Mark Your Identity... Here's an bit of encouragement for the TFCC parish. As a reminder, every other conservative church in our community is some form of bapti-costal...and they're basically all the same, except for some very minor details. We've talked a lot about what sets us apart, as a traditional, liturgical, sacramental congregation in the midst of plain vanilla evangelicalism. Pastor Peters reminds us of the unique position we have and encourages churches like ours to resist the temptation to be just like everyone else. "Instead of competing to be relevant, why not play our trump card. We have a God who is accessible to us in the Means of Grace and every Sunday we walk upon the holy ground of His presence bidden by the Spirit to touch eternity and taste immortality in the Eucharist. We have a God who actually cares more about holiness than happiness, about the eternal treasure than what is in at this moment. We are a people who gladly surrender our diversity to be one people before the one Lord by means of the one baptism."
